Holly Mount Orchard
Community Heritage Orchard
ABOUT
About
Holly Mount Orchard is a heritage community orchard. Originally planted in the early 1900s, abandoned in the 1980s, the orchard is now being lovingly restored by Incredible Edible Ramsbottom.
We are an entirely volunteer-run organisation; we provide free heritage fruit to our community in the autumn, and we run small-scale unique events and workshops throughout the year.
Our aims are to nurture greater understanding of the importance of traditional orchards such as ours, and to create a beautiful, healthy, happy space for our community to explore.
You can help our orchard by volunteering, by supporting our events, or simply by enjoying a fleeting moment - stopping to admire the view on a sunny day with a flask of tea...
Visit Us
You don't need to wait for the next event, or volunteering session to visit us. The orchard is an open community resource and is located on the West Pennine Way between the villages of Tottington and Greenmount. You can drop in and enjoy a moment of orchard quiet any time you're passing!
When visiting, please treat both the orchard and its neighbours with respect and visit during daylight hours only. Please do not park in any of the residents' signed areas; park only at the bottom of Holly Mount Lane, or (when the School is closed) in the adjacent lay-by parking space to Holly Mount RC Primary School.
NB: Incredible Edible Ramsbottom takes no responsibility for any activities which take place at the Orchard outside of IER organised activities/events.
